Operator Registration FAQs

We get asked a lot of questions about how to register as an Operator, and none of them are silly.

Below are some of the most frequently asked questions. If you don’t see your question listed, feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to answer it for you. If you woud like to see how IBAS can work for you, just watch the video.

Our business operates in multiple locations? Do I have to register each site individually?

No. You only need to register each different trading name, not every physical location. Online businesses should generally be registered using the website/domain trading name, while land-based businesses use the trading name itself.

How will I log into the IBAS website to update our records or review the progress of ongoing disputes?

Each approved company user will have a username with a password and PIN protected account. IBAS recommends that access is limited to a small, trusted group and that passwords are changed frequently – and at least whenever relevant staff change.

Can I set up accounts for colleagues to be able to login?

Yes, it is possible to set up multiple user accounts for each company. We will ask you to nominate who you wish alerts/prompts relating to active cases should be sent to.

Will the benefits of the new site updates take effect as soon as I register?

Not immediately. When we have every operator registered on the new system, we will then be ready to launch the equivalent customer-facing changes. From that point any new disputes will become accessible for both customer and operator to view and monitor online by logging on with the correct email address and password combination.

What steps do I have to follow to complete the registration process?

Our Business Relationship Manager will contact you to guide you through the process. We will ask you to complete a registration form, to supply a copy of your consumer facing rules or terms of business, to sign an agreement with IBAS and then to pay your first year’s registration fees.

What happens if we choose not to complete this process?

We will take steps to transfer all of the companies from our current database of operators onto the new database. However, if operators do not register themselves there are two disadvantages:

– We risk recording that you are running businesses or brands that are no longer operational

– You will not be able to benefit from logging in to be able to view a record of your previous disputes or progress updates on disputes which are ongoing.

Why haven’t my changes been applied to the directory of ibas-registered operators on the ibas website?

G

Some directory changes are handled manually by IBAS. Ultimately, registration changes such as adding, removing or editing trading names are intended to update the website directory directly, but please allow at least 48 hours to allow the changes to take effect.

As a racecourse/stadium, do I need to register separate betting outlets individually?

Your Subtitle Goes Here
G
No, if you’re registering on that basis, one registration in the stadium’s name (and/or trading name) is sufficient.

Will you have separate directories concerning different licensed territories?

Your Subtitle Goes Here
G

Our intention is to list all registered operators in one searchable directory, regardless of where they operate or hold licences. This is because we anticipate accepting registrations from businesses which operate in multiple jurisdictions and we see no need to make the directory more complicated or confusing than it needs to be.
